This course meets the General Dental Council's educational criteria for verifiable ECPD and 15 hours online CPD and 35 hours of face to face. Totalling 50 CPD points will be awarded.

Chris has a special interest in oral surgery and has spent time at general and university hospitals teaching undergraduates, MSc students and DCTs .

He currently leads the NW FD and GDP oral surgery program, has recently started a PGDip/PGCert and teaches/mentors privately around the UK.

Course Outline

    This is a multi-system, multi-speaker blended learning course with 15 hours online CPD before 35 hours of face to face CPD (approx 15 of which is either hands on or interactive).
    Your dental assistant is welcome to attend on the Saturday for a free nurses program!

    Aims
    The Foundations of Dental Implantology course is designed to provide dental professionals with an in-depth understanding of implant treatment planning, surgical placement, prosthetic rehabilitation, digital workflows, and implant maintenance. The course will equip learners with the necessary theoretical and practical skills to successfully assess, plan, and execute basic implant cases, while also understanding the limitations and complexities involved.

    Objectives
    Day 1 – Surgical implant placements, flaps, stents, drilling protocols, augmentation, suturing and post op instructions.

    Day 2 – Restoring implants, design, components, materials, impressions, fitting the restoration.

    Day 3 – Digital implant dentistry, from planning to restoration.

    Day 4 – Implant Complications and Maintenance.

    Day 5 – What is normal, how do failing mouths vary and how might that affect us, what alternative options do we have? Leading into implant treatment planning.

      • The full balance must be paid no later than 28 days prior to the course start date. Cancellations made after this point will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee (ie the full price of the course).
      • Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Places will be allocated on receipt of the completed registration form and payment of the deposit.
